The Federal Depository Library Program

"This library is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government Documents.  Public Access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law." (Title 44 United States Code).

The Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) was established by Federal law (Title 44, U. S. Code, Section 19).  The Academic Library is a selective Federal Depository Library.  We provide free, public access to Federal government information in a variety of formats.  We also provide librarian assistance, free of charge.

The Arizona Western College/NAU Yuma Academic Library selects approximately 22% of the publications available through the Federal Depository Library Program. Our selections have been made to meet the needs of our parent institutions and the people of our Seventh United States Congressional District.  We provide access to the publications received through the FDLP, to the FDLP Basic Collection, and to publications available through FDLP partnerships.

How to Find Federal Government Documents in the Academic Library:

Many (but not all) of the Federal Government documents in the Academic Library are listed in the library catalog. Search by author, title, or keywords that describe your topic.

The Catalog of Government Publications allows you to search for thousands of additional Federal Government documents that are available online or in Federal Depository Libraries around the country.  The MetaLibâ  federated search tool allows multi-database searching.  FDSys is the online repository for digital Federal information.

Librarian assistance, free of charge, is available to help you locate Federal Government documents in the Academic Library and elsewhere. Call us at (928) 344-7777, email us or use our online chat service.
